WORLD DRUG PREVENTION CONFERENCE     Each year, the PRIDE World Drug Prevention Conference provides a forum and ideas for hundreds of organizations  – large and small, local, national, and international – working together against drug abuse and violence. Yet, for so serious a subject matter, the conference brims with optimism, music, and a good deal of laughter. It is,  in fact, the rejuvenating quality of the PRIDE World Drug Prevention Conference that brings many participants  back year after year. For example, the Fort Lauderdale newspaper observed, “Broward Informed Parents sent 35 youth to a PRIDE conference. It kicked up a youth wave that surged  across the county.” Since its beginning at Georgia State University, the conference has evolved into the largest and most comprehensive drug prevention conference offered nationally and internationally.
